How To Add To The Shelf-Life Of Your Jeans

When you own a great pair of jeans and hope to keep it in good condition its important not to

wash it too often as this can weaken the jean and make the color fade out quickly.

Always endeavor to air the jean after each use, so that it doesn’t start smelling since you are not going to be washing it all the time.

The time lapse between when you buy the jeans and when you wash it generally depends on how much use you put into it and what activities you carry out while wearing it.

But if it’s a light colored jeans and you live in west Africa you might have to wash it more often than you would a dark colored jeans.

As with prints, the first time you wash your jeans you add salt to the water to help set the dye. Don’t use detergents to wash your jeans, some people recommend baby shampoo but I use toilet soap.

Another trick that comes in handy is washing the jean inside out, rinsing it inside out and air drying it inside out.

Since distress jeans is all the rage right now it’s important to note that the tear can further rip with constant use. So please take care when washing or using the jeans in general to avoid this.

Try as much as possible to have a variety so that you are not always stuck with using the same jeans all the time.
